Hi, I’m Lelaina.

Lelaina Scott is a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania based artist dedicating her time and resources to creative expression. After briefly studying at the University of Pittsburgh, she returned home in 2020 and reconnected deeply with traditional art. She earned her degree in Visual Arts and Music Studies from Penn State in 2023 and has since built a strong artistic presence through solo exhibitions, murals, and teaching engagements across Central Pennsylvania. In early 2025, she relocated to Pittsburgh, where she is actively immersing herself in the city’s art scene. As a painter, muralist, instructor, and curator, Scott’s work centers on the human form and spirit, using acrylics and experimental techniques to explore themes of beauty, decay, and connection.

Lelaina Scott was born in State College, Pennsylvania in 2001. Ever since she was young, art has been her life. Chore money went to art kits and time outside of school was spent bend over various paints, colored pencils and anything else she had on hand. As she grew older, and her love from music blossomed, she found her path back to traditional art in 2020 when she had to leave the University of Pittsburgh and return home to her childhood arts and crafts supplies. This was her purpose. Her passion grew into an insatiable desire to create art from the moment she woke up to the moment her head hit the pillow in the evening (or early, early morning).

Scott graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 2023 with her Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts and Music Studies. Since 2020, Scott has made big leaps her art career including having several solo exhibitions across Central Pennsylvania including at The Bellefonte Museum of Art, 3 Dots Downtown, The Art Alliance of Central Pennsylvania and the Patterson Gallery on Penn State’s main campus. She has also expanded her skills beyond exhibition, completing several full-scale murals inside 3 Dots Downtown’s two large unisex bathrooms, taught multiple classes with Penn State’s Center for Arts and Crafts and with the Art Alliance of Central Pennsylvania and curating a visual art and poetry focused show with Ridgelines Language Arts in State College. Since moving to Pittsburgh in early 2025, Lelaina Scott has already began growing roots in the vibrant art community in the city she has called home since she was young. This is just the beginning.

Scott is a painter, muralist, instructor and curator with a raging passion for creation. She has always been fascinated by the human spirit, drawing from the human face and figure for her works. In an increasingly disconnected world, bring in attention to the beauty and decay of human imagery is at the heart of her work. Utilizing experimental techniques and supplies along with her favorite medium, acrylic, Lelaina is embracing a child-like play while bringing human spirit to her canvas.

  • "It was 3 Dots' distinct pleasure to host Lelaina Scott for a spring residency and major solo exhibition in 2024. Lelaina's residency installation which evolved over its exhibit period was engaging and embodied the spirit of Lelaina herself. It's always sad to watch out exhibitions go but we are lucky - 3 Dots commissioned two murals by Lelaina for our bathrooms. Her work lives on!"

  • "I first encountered Lelaina's work at the Rhoneymeade Arts Fest this past summer (2024) when I spotted her hand printed bandanas. I bought one but had to go back for another! I've featured them frequently in my country western themed photographs as they perfectly captured the playful mood I was going for! She's also a really cool person who I enjoyed getting to chat with. Enjoying seeing more of her work here and on her insta!"
